German Business Aviation Association

GBAA – German Business Aviation Association e. V.

The GBAA is the strong voice of the German business aviation – we unite interests, promote innovation and secure the future of our industry.

Peter Gatz, Chairman of the Executive Board, 2024

Competent. Innovative. Networked.

Building bridges between innovation and regulation.

The German Business Aviation Association e.V. (GBAA) has been the driving force behind dynamic and sustainable business aviation in Germany and Europe since 1970. The GBAA brings together the entire world of this industry: flight operations, handling and maintenance companies, aircraft manufacturers, commercial and corporate flight departments, consultants, insurance companies, brokers and financial service providers.

Together with our members and partners, we stand for an aviation network that is characterized by innovative technologies, efficient processes and climate-friendly working methods.

Cooperative. Meaningful. Powerful.

The strong voice of business aviation.

The GBAA supports safe, efficient and sustainable flight operations by consistently representing the interests of its members. The GBAA acts as an important interface between members, aviation authorities and legislators. Furthermore, it drives the transformation towards sustainable aviation through technological innovation and advocates fair and low-bureaucracy utilization of aviation infrastructure.

Both organisations, GBAA and IMPACT on sustainable aviation e.V., are interested in promoting sustainable practices in the aviation sector. Together we can extend our reach and develop harmonized standards and practices for the industry.

Dr. Ulrike Ziegler, President of The Board of Directors, IMPACT on sustainable aviation, 2024

The GBAA is indispensable for the political representation of business aviation interests. Individual companies are hardly heard, but effective influence can be exerted at association level. This is impressively demonstrated by the success of petitions and the involvement of political representatives.

Business jets connect European economic areas directly and provide regional companies with a connection without detours via large airports. They are crucial for export-orientated companies in peripheral business locations and promote ecological and regional goals.

The challenges of decarbonisation affect both business aviation and commercial aviation. Sharing expertise and best practices across stakeholder groups and borders is an important building block on the road to Net Zero 2050.

Dr. Ulrike Ziegler, President of The Board of Directors, IMPACT on sustainable aviation, 2024

Extensive. Solid. Passionate.

You too can play an active role in shaping business aviation.

Founded in 1970 as `Arbeitskreis Geschäftsluftfahrt` within the Federation of German Industries `Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI)` (The Voice of German Industry), the GBAA was added to the register of associations in 2001. Since then, our membership has tripled; We now have over 100 members!
